Hail Caesar in 10mm, first game.

Something a bit different this week at club, four of us had a game of Hail Caesar using 10mm armies most of which were are old Warmaster Ancient forces. Three of us myself,Dave and Simon had not played before so we relayed heavily on Jes for his knowledge, thanks mate :o).
The sides were Carthaginians(me) and Persians(Jes) verses Pontic(Simon) and Republican Romans(Dave), as this was are first game we decided not to worry to much about army computations we just whacked some models on the table and got ready to play.
Here’s some pictures.

Well that’s it, we managed to get 5 turns of the game in and I for one really enjoyed it, I think i’ll be coming back to this system again in the not to distant future.

Cheers, Steve.

I’ve been looking at getting into Hail Caesar now that Ady’s Fantasy lists are up at http://adyswargamesden.com/category/shadow-storm/ – and I am trying to figure out how to use my Warmaster stands for HC. In one pic, above, you have 6 stands spread out in a line (skirmishers?) and they are facing 3 stands in a wedge. Are those representing Open Orders, or is the stand of 3 in a different formation? Thanks!

  6. lurkusspleen says:

    Hi there,
As far as I can remember both lots were skirmishes, Libyans in red, velites in White.Sorry I can’t be more helpful but it been awhile since the game.
    Cheers, Steve.

Converting to 10mm from a 28mm ruleset, what are the general width measurements you’re using for units at this scale? Infantry, cavalry, etc? I’m seriously considering my options not just for getting into Hail Caesar, but in what scale I’ll choose. Thanks!

      Hi there,
We were using are old Warmaster Ancient armies, so the stand bases are 40mm by 20mm.As for units instead of the 3 stands per unit we decided to double up and use 6 stand as it gave a visually better looking game in are opinion.
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers,Steve.
